Leadership TrainingUpdated July 2026
We train the leaders your growth already needs
Practical, real-rep leadership training for first-time managers and founder-led teams. We turn your best individual contributors into people who can actually run the business, then we leave them able to do it without us.
Most companies promote their strongest doer and hope they figure out management on the way. That hope is expensive. We give new and growing leaders the reps, the language, and the operating habits to lead well from day one. The goal isn't a workshop everyone forgets by Friday. It's leaders who hold the standard, make decisions, and develop the people under them long after our engagement ends.
No pitch. You'll leave with two or three concrete next steps, whether or not we work together.
Leaders who can run it without you.
I'm Nick Jones, and I founded Eat Sleep Launch Repeat to be the opposite of a consultant you can't get rid of. The greatest achievement you can have as a business owner is to build yourself out of day-to-day operations, and you can't do that until the people around you can lead. So that's what we build. Every leadership engagement is designed with a defined graduation: a point where your managers are steady enough on their own that you no longer need us in the room. We measure success by how quickly we become unnecessary.
Why this matters
The promotion gap is the most common reason founders stay stuck
Here's the pattern I see constantly. A founder is the bottleneck for every decision. They promote a great contributor to relieve the pressure, but nobody taught that person how to delegate, give feedback, or run a one-on-one that isn't just a status update. So the decisions still flow back to the founder, now with an extra layer of confusion in the middle. The fix isn't more hustle from the owner. It's giving the new leader real, practiced skills, fast, so the team genuinely runs without the founder in every loop. Leadership training is the lever that makes delegation actually work.
What skipping this costs
The promotion gap has a price tag
The evidence on undertrained management is blunt: people leave managers, and replacing those people is expensive. Training the person you just promoted costs a fraction of the turnover a struggling manager quietly creates.
1 in 2 have left a job to escape a manager
In a Gallup study of 7,272 US adults, one in two said they had left a job at some point in their career to get away from a manager. The promotion gap is not a soft problem. It is a turnover engine.
Half to twice their salary to replace someone
Gallup puts the cost of replacing an employee at one half to two times that employee's annual salary. One struggling manager who drives out two good people costs more than the training that would have prevented it.
What we teach
The reps every new leader needs, grounded in real operating experience
We don't teach leadership theory. We teach the handful of repeatable behaviors that separate a manager people follow from a manager people route around.
- 01
Delegation that sticks
How to hand off real ownership, not just tasks, so work leaves your plate and stays gone. This is the skill that frees the founder.
- 02
Feedback without flinching
Direct, kind, timely feedback as a routine, not a once-a-year event. We give leaders the scripts and the reps until hard conversations stop feeling hard.
- 03
One-on-ones that actually develop people
A repeatable structure that turns status meetings into coaching, so your people grow between reviews instead of just reporting up.
- 04
Decision-making and standards
How to decide with incomplete information, hold a clear bar, and stop being the person every small call routes back to.
- 05
Running the team's operating rhythm
Goals, priorities, and accountability your leaders own and run themselves, connected to the SOPs and project systems we install alongside them.
- 06
Leading through change
How to keep a team steady, aligned, and honest when priorities shift, headcount grows, or the founder steps back.
How it works
Reps, not a one-day workshop
Leadership is a skill, and skills are built by doing the thing with a coach who has done it. We work alongside your leaders on real situations, not hypothetical case studies.
- 01
1. Diagnose
We sit in your operation and find where leadership is actually breaking down: the decisions that bottleneck, the feedback that never happens, the handoffs that fail. We meet the leaders we'll be developing.
- 02
2. Build the reps
Short, practical sessions paired with live application on your real work. Leaders practice the conversation, run the one-on-one, make the call, then we debrief it together.
- 03
3. Install the habits
We turn the skills into your team's standing operating rhythm so they outlast the engagement. New leadership behaviors become how the company simply runs.
- 04
4. Graduate
We name the exit up front and work toward it. When your leaders are steady on their own, we step back. You keep the capability, not a retainer.
Market context
What leadership training costs across the market
Leadership development runs from a few hundred dollars a person for online courses to six figures for custom programs, per Forysta Group's December 2025 cost guide. Our engagements are shaped most like the coaching tier: real reps with your real leaders, on your real work, scoped to a defined exit instead of a subscription.
| Format | Typical market cost |
|---|---|
| Online leadership courses | $200 to $2,000 per person |
| Group workshops | $1,000 to $5,000 per person |
| Executive coaching | $5,000 to $20,000 and up |
| Custom in-house programs | $20,000 to $100,000 and up |
Why trust me with your leaders
I've led launches and built teams at scale, then built businesses I don't have to run
I learned to build and lead teams under real pressure.I built expansion operations at Uber, Lime, and Sealed. Those were roles, not clients, and I label them that way on purpose. Those were my roles, not ESLR clients. But the proof I care most about is this: I co-founded Freaky Foot Tours in 2015, and it now runs across Flagstaff, Prescott, and Tucson without me in the day-to-day. That only happens when the people leading it can lead without you. That's exactly what I train your team to do.
Built at scale
Launch and expansion teams at Uber, Lime, and Sealed, where leadership had to hold up under real growth pressure. Employers on my resume, not ESLR clients.
Endorsed by the people I led with
An on-record endorsement from Andrew Savage, VP and founding team member at Lime, on execution, mission, and market launches.
Living proof of the thesis
Freaky Foot Tours runs across three cities on a couple hours of my week because its leaders can run it themselves.
Who this is for
First-time managers and founder-led teams growing past the founder
This is built for the moment a company outgrows its founder's bandwidth. If you just promoted a strong contributor into their first management role, this gets them confident and effective fast. If you're a founder who is the answer to every question, this builds the layer of leaders that lets you finally step out of the day-to-day. And if your managers are technically in charge but the team keeps routing around them, this closes that gap. One senior operator, working with your real people on your real work, as one part of the larger operating layer we can install: marketing, SOPs, AI workflows, project management, and culture and alignment, all under one roof. If the founder seat itself is the bottleneck, start with the fractional COO page.
